When entries are posted in Business Central, they are initially locked as historical data, and you cannot modify them. However, you can actually edit the description of the entry if needed.
To do this, navigate to the Chart of Accounts and select the relevant account. Then, choose either Account/Entries or Process/Browse Entries; you can edit the description in both places. In the example below, we are using Account/Entries.
Click on Edit List, and you will now be able to edit the Description field. Please note that even though you are in the editing function, you cannot modify other fields. This ensures that you do not alter important historical data.
Now, I am to correct my text. The correction is saved automatically.
Now my transaction text is as I want it.
Please note that changes to the description are saved in the change history. Under Actions/View Change History, you can see both the old and the new value, as well as who made the change, of course.
