With Business Central you get a financial system that helps you digitise your processes and data across your organisation and platforms.
Dynamics 365 Business Central is Microsoft’s new product name for Dynamics NAV and is built on the NAV platform. This means that all the functionality from NAV is available.
Business Central is now available both as a Cloud solution (Software as a Service) and as an on-premise solution, where you run the solution on your own server.
Business Central as a Cloud solution:
You can still customize Business Central, just like you know it from NAV. What is new is that customizations are located as so-called extensions. These extensions are isolated from the standard product, so the ongoing updates from Microsoft are not affected.
License types and prices:
Dynamics 365 Business Central user pricing depends on your needs. There are 3 types of users, and you need to decide which type your entire company needs. You cannot mix user types. All prices are per named user per month excluding VAT. For all types, access is free for the accountant.
Licenses are invoiced a year in advance. This means that you are committed annually. It is possible to be committed monthly instead, but Microsoft will add 25% to the price. Virtually all of our customers choose to commit annually.
